You + Us, Together. It’s a relationship worth building.

Common Spark is proud to work with, support, and collaborate with organizations across the nation striving for a clean energy future for all. We work with environmental advocates, energy and environmental and social justice organizations, community-based groups, state and local agencies, and philanthropic initiatives.

Our clients are our partners, and we commit to building trust and commonality, to learning and unlearning, and to growing in our work together with you.

Our Expertise

Facilitation

We recognize that the facilitator is a position of power and privilege. It is our duty and work to actively shift that power to the participants of the conversations we hold. By employing facilitation approaches that embrace all voices, and by holding ourselves and those we work with accountable to principles of equitable process, Common Spark commits itself to the cause of more inclusive meetings, convenings, and conversations

Energy Policy

We recognize the issue of energy is deeply personal and as such, clean energy policy should be guided by the experience of those most impacted. The best policy is informed by all types of expertise. We strive to shift the playing field by inviting and recognizing forms of knowledge that have been historically excluded and marginalized.

Strategy

We recognize it takes incredible courage and vulnerability to name the tensions and misalignments in our energy system, approach transformational work with thoughtfulness and intention. We support organizations in taking an honest look at their impacts and exploring ways to do work differently, and work to help translate bold intentions into enduring change and clear direction.

Trainings and Conversations

Through the Energy (in)Equity series, we share our learnings into an inquisitive lesson-plan to generate justice-based thinking and reparative approaches for our partners, colleagues, and industry. We recognize the braveness of our participants to show up to learn, the vulnerability to dive into really hard topics, and the truthfulness of the community to build accountability and do good.

Our Partnership Can Dream Boldly

"The team at Common Spark has deep energy policy expertise and excellent skills at writing, synthesizing, interviewing partners. They have helped us get to the heart of what is needed to make progress on tough issues."
